Maternal Rubella is known to cause congenital deafness,
blindness, braindamage,cardiac defect, insulin dependent diabetes-
one or more in the same child. WHO report says that rubella sweeps
India once in 3-4 years.
Immunise women in Child bearing age and adolescent girls against Rubella.
Look for
Causes and Prevention
of deafness
and other disabilities. Prevention, Eary Identification and Intervention are the priority
areas where more attention is needed
