What is Bureau of the Empowerment for Persons with Disablities?
Bureau of the Empowerment for Persons with Disablities, established by The Rehabilitation Act 1991 is the Governmental Organization under Office of Welfare Promotion, Protection and Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
Bureau of the Empowerment for Persons with Disablities provides rehabilition services for PWDs as follow:

- Coordinate and cooperate with the relevant governmental and non-governmental organizations.
- Collect and retrieve information pertaining to disabled persons.
- Prepare programs relating to disability prevntion, treatment and rehabilitation.
- Initiate and accelerate the promotion of activities for PWDs.
- Arrange training for personners working in assistance, development and rehabilitation for PWDs, by cooperation with relevant GO and NGO.
- Promote employment for PWDs who have been rehabilitated.
- Serve as center for technical dissemination and publieization of activities associated with PWDs.
- Compile analytical and research results.
- Inplement, monitor and follow up policies and programs for assisting, developing and rehabilitating PWDs undertaken by concerned GOs and NGOs and give further report to the Committee.
- Comply with the resolutions of the Committee or as assigned by the Committee.

This section is operating to be secretarial for all sections in Bureau, especially controlling the budget and manpower including oparation of the Bureau.

Information Center of PWDs Section:
Information Center of PWDs Section is to collect and retrive information pertaining to persons with disabilities used for prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of the PWDs and acting as a focal point to gather the information and records of analyzed or reserched data, operating as an offical information service center for dissemination and distribution of programs in association with PWDs.
Information Center of PWD Section Activities are:
- Collecting Data of PWDs by registeriong PWDs all over the country.
- Services Statistic of Registration's Data for Go, NGO and Public
- Acting on ICT and AT for PWDs to be National Plan.

Rehabilitation Fund for PWDs Section:
In order to serve as the fun for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons in the implementation and provision of assistance to PWDs and support of the institutions providing medical, educational, social rehabilitation and vocational training; and organizations of PWDs,"A Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons", the Bureau operates the Rehabilitation Fund for PWDs by providing loan service and support the projects associated with PWDs.
Rehabilitation Fund for PWDs Section Activities are:
- Loan Services for PWDs.
- Support GO and NGO Projects on relating to PWDs.

Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability Section:
The "Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability" (APCD) is a regional center on disability, which will be estabished in Bangkok towords 2004 as a legacy of the Asia and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons 1993-2002, under the join collaboration of the Government of Japan and the Government of Thailand, In this context, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) started the APCD project in Bangkok on August 1,2002
The Center will be collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacitc (ESCAP) , United Nations agencies, International non-governmental organizations and non-governmental organizations of people with disabilities.
