] [ ] [ ] On 1 August 2007, it was the beginning of the Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability Project Phase II with technical collaboration between the Royal Thai Government and the Government of Japan. The overall goal is to promote an inclusive, barrier-free and rights-based society and empowerment of persons with disabilities in the Asia-Pacific region. The project aims to promote APCD as a regional Center to facilitate networking and collaboration among organizations of/for persons with disabilities towards an inclusive, barrier-free and rights-based society and empowerment of persons with disabilities in the Asia-Pacific region.
In Project Phase II, APCD will target persons with disabilities as well as their families and facilitators. Persons with hearing impairments and persons with intellectual disabilities will be more focused on through APCD activities such as networking and collaboration, training implementation and information support.
