The National Action Plan on Disability for the period 2006-2010 has been approved by the Government of Vietnam. The Plan has been prepared with contribution and participation of relevant ministries and agencies of the government, self-help groups, NGOs, and other organizations.

The 2nd Asia Pacific Disability Forum (APDF), General Assembly and Conference 2006, with support of UNESCAP, the Council of Disabled People of Thailand and the Royal Thai Government was organized in Bangkok. With the theme "New Understanding, New Hope toward ICT for All in Indonesia", 100 blind and visually impaired persons gathered at the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology Building, for a computer camp for the blind held by Mitra Netra Foundation, the first of its kind in the country.
