The Foundation of Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability

A bronze bust of Franklin Delano Roosevelt The Foundation of Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (FAPCD) was established on 7 November 2004. In 2001, the Royal Thai Government received the Franklin Delano Roosevelt International Disability Award for the outstanding implementation on disability activities. The award of $50,000 and a FDR bronze bust were presented to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Due to the initiative of this project HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presented the Award token to FAPCD to support APCD activities. Figure of Franklin Delano Roosevelt (full picture)

Objectives of FAPCD are:

  1. to support APCD's activities
  2. to promote and further develop training implementation for persons with disabilities in Asia and the Pacific region and
  3. to promote and further develop training implementations for human resources of disability-related governmental, non-governmental, and other related organizations in Asia and the Pacific region.
