5.1 Profile of Governmental Organizations and Public Facilitates for Persons with Disabilities

A member organization of the CDPF.

The CDPF was established in 1988 and is one of the major members of the National Coordination Committee on Disability. It represents the common interest and protects the lawful rights of PWDs in China while promoting humanitarianism and protecting the human rights of PWDs.

The Fund was founded in 1983 by Deng Pu Fang and is a member organization of the CDPF. The fund cares for the life, employment, recovery and education of the disabled while also focusing on the improvement of job opportunities for PWDs in western China.

Guangzhou Disabled Persons' Federation was founded on February, 1989 and is the regional organization of the China Disabled Persons' Federation. Guangzhou Disabled Persons' Federation is a combinative body of representing organization of person with disabilities, social welfare organization and supervising mechanism. Guided by Guangzhou municipal government, it stands three main functions: representing the common benefit of people with disabilities and uphold for their rights, servicing those with disabilities directly with various programs and activities, supervising and developing the cause of person with disabilities which is endowed by government.

The Shanghai Disabled Persons' Federation (SDPF) was established in 1988, as a municipal organization of the people with disability, integrating functions of representing the people with disability, social welfare organization and administration. Five special associations have been established through the SDPF, the Shanghai Association of the Blind, the Shanghai Association of the Deaf, the Shanghai Association of Persons with Physical Disability, the Shanghai Association of the Relatives and Friends of Persons with Mental Disability and the Shanghai Association of the Relatives and Friends of Psychotics. Units directly under the Board are Shanghai Disabled Persons' Labor Service Center, Shanghai Disabled Persons' Rehabilitation and Professional Training Center, Shanghai Disabled Persons' Sports Training Center and Shanghai Assistive Devices and Supply Station for the Disabled People

The All China Women's Federation was founded in 1949 as a mass organization dedicated to the advancement of Chinese women of all ethnic groups in all walks of life.
